Last weekend, Brent's old elementary school had a run, parade, food, games and some shopping set up to fund building a new playground. Unfortunately, it was really cold out! We skipped out on the run and came into town in time for the parade.
We totally forgot about bringing Carter his earmuffs because he is so sensitive to the police/fire sirens and horns. Which is quite funny since he runs around the house constantly making sirens in his own high pitched voice.
So he spent the whole parade (even when it was practically over!) with his hands over his ears...didn't even care about the candy. Oops!
Landry enjoyed it and was especially interested in the suckers being thrown out! And when the horses came by, she was yelling and nearly jumping out of my Mother-in-laws arms! She is such an animal lover.
After we grabbed some lunch, my in-laws took the kids to the little farm petting zoo. And, of course, my Landry Kate was in heaven!
Carter was deathly afraid of the cow because "he had horns!" He would go nowhere near it! But he loved this little sheep because "he was nice."
We also ran into our babysitter's daughter who was in the parade with the princesses dressed as Mulan. Neither one of the kids was the least bit interested in getting a picture with her...typical.
Brent's parents bought Carter a pass to let him jump in all of the inflatables, but he got scared and wouldn't do a single one of them! His favorite part of the whole thing was watching the dunking booth. He sat and watched it for the longest time. And he has been talking about it ever since! He also quite enjoyed his fried Oreo that his aunt Kara got him.
Brent came down with a sinus/upper respiratory infection that night, so that put a bit of a damper on the weekend. :( I was still able to get my front door repainted Sunday and we went to get a new swing last night so hopefully I can post some pictures of the things we have done to the outside of our house soon!
I love love love parades! Especially small ones. But I'm also all about the candy! ;-)
