Kicking off our Holiday Weekend!

The kids and I kicked off our long holiday weekend with a little trip to the splash park in town.  It was really dreary and not super hot like it has been when we woke up, so although it wasn't the ideal weather, I hoped it meant there wouldn't be a crowd!

We got there a few minutes before it opened for the day and had the place to ourselves for about 20 minutes or so before other families started filing in.  I was so glad I took my big camera so I could capture some of our fun!

It didn't take more than five minutes for Carter to start really enjoying himself.  The water was really cold, so Landry wasn't a big fan.  

 She and I spent most of our time just watching, but she was more than happy with that!

 Occasionally, she would go dip her little toes in, but even that didn't last long!

Love the next one.  He was really enjoying himself!

 When Carter had enough of the water, we took a walk over to play on the playground.  Both kids really enjoyed this!  We will have to come back more often while Brent is working so much.

We finished things off with a trip to Walmart (fun!).  The kids and I have some fun little outings planned for the rest of the weekend, so here's to hoping we survive it on our own!  Brent will be working straight through it.  We sure will be happy to have him back!
