Carter's 4th Birthday Party

Okay, here I am over two months later re-capping my sweet boy's FOUR year birthday party.  I'm terrible, I know.  In my defense, it has been a rough few months around here and it has been busy as ever with the holidays.  I'm going with the "better late than never" excuse.
So we have been watching Jurassic Park for the last six or so months basically nonstop, so it was easy to decide on a dinosaur birthday party theme.  And since our little man's favorite food is BBQ, our menu was super easy as well!  And Aunt Dana pulled through yet again with a super cool dinosaur cake with a working (dry ice) volcano on it!  It was perfect!
For the entertainment, he requested a bounce house, and I was able to rent one with delivery and set up which made for no worries for me and one excited little guy!
The weather turned off beautiful for the party...we couldn't have requested anything better!  It was cool enough the kids could bounce and play without getting too hot, but warm enough we didn't have to worry about hats or jackets or socks.
Little sister even got in on the fun like a big girl and had a blast!  It was a hit with all of the kids...although I had some trouble trying to get everyone to stop to eat and open gifts! :)

Of course, Carter thinks birthdays are all about the cake, so he was really excited for cake time.  I can't brag enough on this cake his Aunt Dana made...it was as delicious as it was cool.  Chocolate on chocolate...should I say more?

And then, of course, the presents!!  We are so spoiled by our family and friends.

Then we had to get in some more bounce house time.  The kids were getting really brave by this point (not sure if it was from being in there awhile or the cake setting in), but thankfully there was only one real accident of bumping heads and it wasn't even too bad.  They loved going down the slide together, especially Landry because she was scared to go by herself. Thankfully, there were plenty of kids who were happy to drag her down with them!!

The man came to pick up the bounce house around dark, and we headed inside to give some crazy kids a bath.  Carter was so excited that night to sleep in his new sleeping bag and read his new book.
It's still crazy that our little guy is four...time is just flying by these days!  My love for him just keeps on multiplying everyday and I can't imagine life without his sweet snuggles and loving words.
