Fall Catch Up

Now for some random things I want to share from this fall...

My oldest little sister Claire was in the football homecoming court as this is her senior(!!) year.  She looked absolutely beautiful and was voted runner up.
We had a wild night that night because we also had a rehearsal for our friend, Matt's wedding beforehand.  Carter was the ringbearer and Brent was an usher.  So we went to rehearsal and ate and then rushed off to catch the homecoming show at halftime.
Obviously my kids were kind of over it at this point!!  And Carter felt the need to "wink" at the ladies in his picture.
Then we had to get home to get a good night of rest for the wedding day the next day.  Thankfully, we didn't have to be at the wedding too long beforehand for pictures, so we were able to fit in a good nap as well. And Carter's outfit was SO cute on him!!!
LOVE that picture up there of my three favorite people.  They all looked so good!
Carter looked so precious with the little flower girl.  And I was proud of him for cooperating for pictures for the most part once he got warmed up to everyone.  If you haven't noticed, my kids and husband are less than happy when the camera comes out!
Apparently he was paid off to do good (see the dollars in hand in the picture above!!).
I was so happy to sneak in a little family shot just before the service, as those don't happen near enough around here!
I can't even describe how nervous I was about the whole wedding situation.  I was probably more nervous than on my own wedding day!  I mean, to send a three year old down the aisle in front of lots of people he doesn't know and then expect him to stand up there for around a half hour and walk back out seems crazy!!  But he absolutely blew it out of the water.  He walked up there, no big deal, and then really stood there and listened to most of the ceremony and smiled and waved at me a few times.  Then he walked out like a pro.  I couldn't have been more proud!
As a reward for doing so good, we took him to the dinosaur travelling exhibit that was in town the next day.  (Apparently we really like cramming our weekends really full!)
I have to say, it was kind of expensive, but our dinosaur-loving kiddos absolutely ate it up!  The dinos in these pictures moved and made noises, so they were in awe of them.
Carter also got to ride a T-Rex which was pretty cool.  He wasn't the least bit scared so maybe he will be a good amusement park kiddo one of these days when he gets a little taller.
Then there was a dino dig area where we got to use paintbrushes to uncover hidden fossils.  The kids really had fun doing this.  We spent a lot of time there!

Then, before we left, we visited the play area where there were lots of bouncy houses (although most were for much bigger kids than mine) and a little padded area where there were big, soft blocks to build with and things like that.  It was definitely a struggle trying to get the kids to leave!
Every Saturday from the beginning of October through mid-November, Carter played soccer games. Brent volunteered to help coach and we had high hopes that Carter would love it since that was Brent's sport in high school.
He liked it the first few practices and games, but then it was a total struggle to get him to want to go play.
He was one of the youngest on the team since it was made up of four to six year olds and he just turned four in the middle of the season.  Most of his time was spent on the bench drinking Gatorade!!
Occasionally he would get into it and do pretty good for a bit.  However, the one goal he scored was for the other team!! He didn't know that, though! :)  He says he is not going to play next year.  Landry seemed really into it, so we are holding out hope she will be our little soccer player.
Apparently soccer games wore us all out! :)
