While I don't feel like we got as many fall "bucket list" type things in as I would have liked, we got to have a little fun this fall. I kept pinning fun little crafts and things, and then if we did end up having time to do them, I didn't have the right supplies on hand or someone (side-eye to you, Carter man) was having a tantrum or something and it just didn't happen. There's always next year, right?!?
We got in a trip to the pumpkin patch the day after we returned from our Fall Break beach trip. The weather was super nice and the kids were in good moods, so we left the unpacking for later and took off.
We got to the small pumpkin patch just as a hay ride was loading up, so we rushed off to join it. We go to a small pumpkin patch where you basically just buy pumpkins they already have picked, but they hay ride takes you out to the patch to see where they were grown. Carter, of course, loved the tractor and Landry liked chewing on the stem of a small pumpkin the owner gave out to all of the kiddos.
That is my favorite part of this little place is that they are not over-priced and charging for every last thing. The hay ride was free and the kids each got a small pumpkin for free. I got several (smaller) pumpkins for under ten dollars but we still got the feel of a pumpkin patch. And for two little ones, that is about all you need!
It was necessary to get some good pumpkin pictures in, of course! I couldn't believe how agreeable the kids were with the pictures...this never happens! My little Carter man was not to be outdone with the pumpkin pictures...he posed himself for this one!
Then we played in the tunnel and corn. We tried to let Landry Kate in on the fun, but she just wanted to eat the corn, so that had to come to an end rather quickly. And in true three-year-old fashion, we didn't leave the place without a screaming fit!
Carter and I painted the pumpkins we bought on Halloween morning. He loved it! His pumpkin ended up being a nasty mess of black/green/blue by the end because he just wanted to glob it all over the place, but he enjoyed it and that's all that matters. Maybe next year we can tackle pumpkin carving!
