Easter 2014

Easter morning, Brent had decided to go turkey hunting since he had missed out on it the rest of the weekend.  Carter woke me up and we cuddled in my bed while he drank his milk.  Before long he was ready to go play, so I ran to get the camera so he could discover his Easter basket.  He noticed it immediately!
At first he was pretty much just obsessed with the eggs...probably because my Mom and sisters had taken him to an Easter egg hunt the day before and he thought there was candy in there!!  Next year I will know to stuff those eggs! :)  I honestly didn't expect him to be looking for anything inside them.
Once I finally got his mind off the eggs, he checked out the basket.  He was really into the bubbles in there...everything else he just sort of threw to the side!
He had a coloring book and some washable markers, a new Cars utensil set that is more like real silverware, lots of bubbles, and some puffs in his basket.  He also got a bigger size Pottery Barn hooded beach towel (in the background) and three books...including a John Deere one and the second Little Blue Truck book about going to the city since he is obsessed with the first one.   We didn't want to overdo it since we knew his grandparents all had him a basket too!
The little toot saw his new Little Blue Truck Leads the Way book and immediately went to get his original Little Blue Truck book!!  He was not having any of me reading the new one!  Hopefully, he will get over that soon and let us have a little variety in what we read.  He did enjoy the John Deere book, but wasn't the least bit interested in me reading it...he just wanted to point out the tractor on every page.
After we had lots of fun blowing bubbles and ate some breakfast, it was bath time.  We tried out an Easter egg bath and it was pretty fun!  Carter loved opening them and filling them with water and dumping it out.  He played for a long time.  Daddy got home from his hunt and joined us in the bathroom for a bit.
After his bath, we laid him down for an early nap so he could get plenty of rest before a long day of family visiting.  We ended up having to wake him up to leave, but he woke up happy and ready to go!
We started our family Easter celebrations at Brent's Granny Mac's.  We ate some lunch and then we went outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather!  It got up in the high 70's so we were in heaven.  Carter convinced his Papaw Red to ride him on the lawn mower AKA "tractor" around the yard a few times.  And then he found a wagon and got Craig to pull him around.  The boy is just a bit spoiled!
Afterwards, we headed to Brent's grandparents on the other side.  They have a golf cart and it didn't take long for Carter to find someone to take him for a ride!  He was on there for the majority of the day.  Here he is with his aunt Kara and his granny Susie.
When he wasn't on the golf cart, he was on the little power four-wheeler his grandparents got him for Easter.  (I told you he was spoiled!!)  I totally forgot to upload a picture of him riding it, but I'm sure there will be many, many more pictures to come of that anyways.
Of course he was in no mood for our family picture, but at least we got one!!  And here he is telling his grandparents goodbye before we headed home to relax a bit before the start of the work week.
We had a pretty great Easter this year.  I just wish we could have spent some time with my family...but they tend to do really big, extended family gatherings and it's silly to me to go to those when we have these close family gatherings to go to.  We would be much more missed from these for sure!
