My aunt Ellen Kaye hosted our first baby shower on Sunday, September 23rd. It was our "big" shower for all of my large family and our church/community friends.
The weather was gorgeous for a fall day, with a high right around 70 degrees. Ellen Kaye's house is gorgeous to begin with, but she also decorated the outside/inside with some fall decor. Then, of course, there were lots of little deer decorations and lots of green/brown for little Carter man.
Before the shower, my Thomas side girl cousins all got together for a quick picture. I feel like I look like a cow with all these skinny minis in this one! And then one of our little growing family.
I also got a few pictures of the shower decor. Lots more yummy food was brought in after the pictures thanks to some of my great family and the presents themselves decorated the other tables after I opened them.Another thing we got a lot of was blankets. One, however, was very special. My dad's wife, Ann, made this one for Carter. It is beautiful and big and matches his room perfectly!
We spent the night after the shower going through everything and getting things set up in his room. Brent put together Carter's swing and high chair while I went through clothes and bottles and diapers and everything else. We found that we really only got two duplicate items that need to be returned. And both had gift receipts, so we really lucked out!
We are really blessed to have such great friends and family. They really wowed us at our wedding shower & did it again for our little man!
We have one more shower this Sunday at Brent's older sister, Dana's house for his side and some of the people from where he grew up. We are really looking forward to it and can't wait to get everything else home so we can figure out what is left to buy to get ready for little man's arrival!
